Lacquered Ballpoint Pen

This set of lacquer pens is handcrafted by HeritEdge artisans.

From making the wooden base to coloring and embellishing the finished product, the process takes one month.

  • Vermilion

    Using lacquer and mineral pigments to adjust the main color tone, the primary color used in this pen is the traditional Oriental color: Vermilion.

  • Mother-of-pearl

    Mother-of-pearl is meticulously applied piece by piece to the pen barrel, which has been coated with a black primer, giving it a gemstone-like luster and vibrant colors.

  • Multiple Times

    The lacquer process is applied multiple times to the pre-prepared pen barrels, resulting in an even and thick color

  • Multiple Days

    Natural air-drying of lacquer takes about one week

  • Burnishing

    The polishing process consists of three stages: Polishing, Burnishing, and Oiling.After polishing, the mother-of-pearl hidden beneath the red lacquer will be revealed.
