The design style of this deck draws inspiration from numerous traditional elements in East Asian folklore, featuring intricately complex graphic compositions.

Each distinct color field is meticulously crafted to highlight a multitude of detailed elements. The designer believes that only through such meticulous attention can the refined beauty of East Asian aesthetics be effectively showcased.


The Classic of Mountains and Seas Tarot deck will include all 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The 22 cards of the Major Arcana depict Eastern deities, each with a story passed down through generations. Surprisingly, we have discovered many similarities between these stories and the allegories hinted at in the tarot cards.


The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana are divided into four different elements, each representing adistinct set of cards: Artifacts and Elixirs (Cups), Divine Beasts (Wands), Ferocious Beasts (Swords), and Mystical Realms (Pentacles). Each card comes with a brief summary, allowing you to unravel the mysterious history behind the Classic of Mountains and Seas.

Bronze Mythical Beast Blind Box

We correspond the ancient Eastern bronze guardian beasts XuanWu | QingLong |ZhuQue | BaiHuwith the astrological elements Water | Air | Fire | Earth.

These mythical creatures serve as the guardians of this tarot deck, housed within the tarot card box.

Crafted from pure copper, each divine beast remains a mystery until you receive the tarot cards.

You won't know which guardian divine beast and attributes are associated with the tarot deck destined for you.

This aligns with the Eastern mysticism belief that the universe is connected to your magnetic field, much like Schrodinger's cat. Only at the moment of unveiling is the answer revealed.

How to use the beasts?

When we first designed this tarot deck, we aimed to incorporate the Four Divine Beasts from Eastern mythology as the guardians of the cards, presented in a blind box format.

In ancient star worship traditions, the stars in the sky, as observed from Earth, were divided into four distinct regions known as the "Four Symbols."

Depending on their arrangement, they formed different patterns, each corresponding to a mythical figure: in the East, a dragon（Qing Long）; in the West, a white tiger（Bai Hu）; in the South, a large bird (the Zhu Que); and in the North, a tortoise-snake hybrid (Xuan Wu).

As the Earth orbits the Sun, the star patterns change with the seasons. Each season corresponds with the appearance of one of these beasts: the Qing Long （Azure Dragon） in winter-spring, the Zhu Que（Vermilion Bird） in spring-summer, the Bai Hu（ White Tiger） in summer-autumn, and the Xuan Wu（ Black Tortoise） in autumn-winter, collectively known as the "Four Divine Beasts."

Later, with the rise of Taoism in the East, these four beasts, due to their unique astrological features, became ideal for divination, direction marking, and assigning attributes.

Over time, various formations based on the Four Divine Beasts emerged, giving them the symbolic meaning of protective deities, a conclusion drawn after thousands of years of ancestral testing.

This set of tarot cards features images created exclusively by HeritEdge team membersusing techniques suchas traditional drawing, digital tablet drawing, and Photoshop composition. These artworks are 100% original creations of our team and have been successfully copyrighted.

Our display stand, featuring both an outer and inner box, presents a dual perspective that captures the legendary essence of mountains and seas.

The outer box draws inspiration from "The Classic Mountains and Seas Tarot," meticulously depicting the grandeur of mountains and oceans with traditional craftsmanship, under a suspended moon, symbolizing profound meaning. The moon, a bridge between cosmic and earthly energies, complements the "mountain and sea" theme, adding a touch of mystery and romance.

In the context of Eastern mythology, the moon represents the "Taiyin" (Yin energy), while the inner box showcases a soaring dragon, embodying "pure Yang energy." This harmony of Yin and Yang foretells the Tarot deck's ability to precisely balance cosmic energies, opening the door to wisdom for the diviner.

We have meticulously marked the positions of the four mythical creatures—east, west, south, and north—making your divination journey more intuitive. The attributes of these creatures—metal, wood, water, and fire—are beautifully reflected in the colors white, green, black, and red. Notably, we have also incorporated the "earth" element represented by the color yellow, showcasing our deep understanding of the Five Elements philosophy.
